Ozzie and Ali hate each other, and with good reason. They both work at an advertising agency run by a pompous ass named Foster. He also owns small cable company. He's also Ozzie's father. Foster obsesses over the fact that no one watches his pet cable project, a morning wake up show called, "Hello Lake Wakanubie." The show's been missing the small town charm that once made it successful, and Foster wants it back. He's sure if there's more small time charm more people will watch. Hello Ozzie and Ali. He sends them out to find it. Not a good thing, because remember, they hate each other. After realizing there's no way they can get out of this, they reluctantly peel back the hate, which leads to tolerance, which leads to a togetherness that helps them face the unimaginable problems they run into. And there are plenty, none of which they ever saw coming. Along the way they meet an assortment of characters that make everyone Dorothy met on the way to Oz pale by comparison. There's Normy the high school kid who sounds like Darth Vader. There's Doctor Sid, TV's greatest dating psychologist. There are The Krunks, fat Mona, and Roger Midburry, the son that Lester the dentist won by losing a hand in a poker game. "Hello Lake Wakanubie" is funny, heartwarming, and totally unexpected. The humor is insane and the love story between Ozzie and Ali plays out just the way a twisted fairy tale love story should.
