This little memoir is about a time, a place, and friends. The time was the 1950s, the decade of $0.18 gasoline, drive-in theaters, Peggy Lee's Fever, and Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot. The place was Yreka, California, a small town between Mt. Shasta and the Oregon border on Highway 99, now Interstate 5, in Siskiyou County. And the friends were fellow prodigals, members of the Class of 1957 at Yreka High School, guys and gals who enjoyed fun times and hardly ever went out of their way to avoid trouble.
