Fannie a.k.a. Detective Gayles, along with her husband Mike, their son Mikey and newborn Abby, have the idyllic life together. Life had been good to her and she had no need to complain about the direction she was headed in. When Fannie left the police department on maternity leave, she had every intention of returning to her old familiar faces and places. Ever since Detective Sanders informed her of a possible case with 'Eyes', she couldn't wait to put closure on the one case that eluded her. The crime seems to be taking over the streets of Chicago and getting closer to home. Racial tension between law enforcement officers across the nation, has reached an unprecedented high. This has left Fannie torn between the love of her job and empathy for innocent Blacks murdered at the hands of those few cops who tarnish the reputation of the entire department. Fannie loves doing her job because she is damn good at being a cop, and it upsets her to see the true color of some of her fellow blue partners. Just when Fannie thought she had her whole life planned and in order, something in her changed. Now she had to weigh all her options to make the best decision for everyone in her life.
