Eliah, Dip to his nearest and dearest, got a scholarship to study classics and divinity at a University in the North of the Kingdom. On the day he was due to be ordained, he eloped with Myfanwy, a healthy lass from Wales, a former President of the Debating Society at Uni. who was a law graduate and who was preparing to become a Barrister. This determined Dip to join the local police and from there, he rose through the ranks to become a superintendent. When he retired, with time on his hands, and when his wife did not require his domestic skills, he began to write his Diary. Myfanwy suggested putting it online. The literary editor of one of the national tabloids happened to discover it after one night of heavy drinking. Hooked, he contacted Dip's online publishers, who, grasping the opportunity of making money, were quick to contact Dip, who became an overnight sensation.
