During the spring of 2020, something happened in America that was long overdue. While the murder of people of color, such as those that occurred in Georgia, Kentucky and Minneapolis, were not new to the American people, a perfect storm developed as America was being held hostage due to the coronavirus and people had more time to access social media. This convergence of events brought us to a tipping point in the United States, a point where White people woke up and now may be poised to stay awake for the sake of social justice in America. The question is: Will they remain so? Hindsight is 2020: The Year White America Woke Up! is a book by White people for White people-or truly, for anyone-who want to do the work of waking up.
