Walking out to an island in January for a snow sculpture exhibit sounded like a good idea to Alex Harris. It would be a fun date night with her husband and good friends, but when Alex steps on a body she thinks maybe the high-priced tickets weren't worth it after all. There are tons of suspects to choose from beginning with the wife of the island's owner, the caretakers, and an assistant, all with good motives and plenty of opportunity, not to mention the students who organized the evening, and the hundred and fifty guests who attended. It's probably not the best time for Alex to get involved in a murder, what with her own business to run, a party she and her sister are planning for their mother, and a senior karaoke contest her grandmother has entered, but she can't get the sight of the victim, killed with an icicle thrust into his throat, out of her mind. Alex jumps feet first into the investigation and almost immediately is bombarded by lies and more lies from every suspect she questions. She feels like she's losing her touch and when her sister asks if she could have it all wrapped up before the party, she really feels the pressure.
