He is a traveler from the northlands, the place beyond the mountains. He has journeyed from Karn on pilgrimage to the south lands of Indelossi, the Great Desert, the ancients' realm. He seeks the edge of the world, that place where the soil and sand end. It's there he may ascend to the heavens and look across the veil between life and death. He has words for the dead, but first, he must make it across the desert. The holy men told him to go south through the wasteland until he found the needle that pierces the sky. He must climb it and travel through its eye. There, at the top, is where a man can be close to the gods. It's there the sky is thin, and a man can see into heaven. It's where the dead can hear his voice. Few have come, and even less have completed the journey. It's the last pilgrimage he will make, but will he finish it, and if he does, what will he find?
