Bartlett is back. After failing to complete his last contract to retrieve the daughter of the Book Guardian, a powerful leader in his realm of Mancera, Bartlett is stuck there without a contract. Then, out of the blue, Lord Colton offers him an opportunity to capture an illegal traveler and, perhaps, restore his standing. If he doesn't get this one right, however, it could be his last retrieval.
