Scroll below for a video example. This arrangement of French composer Jean-Phillip Rameau's famous Baroque work for harpsichord, "La Joyeuse," (from Pièces de Clavessin, written in 1724), contains scores for seven interchangeable duet parts in the Concert Key of Bb major. This advanced duet, a grade 5-7 work, consists of two, independent, continuous lines that develop a musical motif. In this process, the motif is developed into an entire musical structure by using sequences, scale-like runs, and simple repetitions. It is a fun piece to perform if you have an accomplished partner. The seven interchangeable parts in this volume enable you to pair with any instrument of any transposition. Keep this copy in your files and enjoy it for years to come. The arrangement is intended to provide a wide array of instrumentalists (and their audiences) with access to this beautiful music. Again, included within the publication are seven interchangeable duet scores for the following: C Instruments in Treble Clef (violin, viola, flute, oboe); C Instruments in Alto Clef (viola); Bb Instruments in Treble Clef (clarinet, trumpet, tenor sax); Eb Instruments in Treble Clef (alto clarinet, alto sax); F Instruments in Treble Clef (French Horn, high and low octaves); C Instruments in Bass Clef (cello, bassoon, trombone, euphonium); Low C Instruments in Bass Clef (string bass, tuba). Parts may be photocopied for rehearsal and performance purposes by the purchaser of the publication. Never worry about lost or damaged parts. Keep the master in your files and come back to it year after year.
