At some point in our lives, negativity tends to surround us. The news, social media, local papers, and the opinions of others can consume our positive thinking. The longer negativity stays around, the harder it is to get rid of it. That's why it is essential to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5). At one time in my life, negative vibes completely surrounded me. Nothing was going right; it was one thing after another. For a length of time, my mind convinced me that that was the best it was going to get. I lost hope and became settled that that was how life would always be for me. Although I smiled on the outside, my heart and mind were fixated on all the negative things around me. It was during this time of desperation that God started to feed me the most simplistic of things--words. I began to journal and seek out the words that God fed me each day. Daily, I waited in expectation to see what God would reveal, and each day brought about a change in my thinking, leading to a turning point in my life. Each day, I was given a "token," and now, I have combined my tokens together and bound them in this book, this "treasure." In this work, I present to you, dear reader, what God has given me... this treasure chest of words. May the God we serve ultimately reveal Himself and all his might through each token within this devotion.
