Samantha Wilde was left in rural Pennsylvania in the hands of her raging alcoholic mother when her father left and took her older sister, Annaliese, with him. After her mother died, she moved to New York City and took comfort in drowning into the sea of people. Now, twenty one years after being left behind, Annaliese comes knocking on her door. She walks into a situation that she feels she must save her little sister from. Using her connections in the court system, Annaliese gets her put in a therapy program. Samantha's therapist happens to be her brother in law and she is condemned to ninety days too close to her older sister. Samantha wants nothing to do with Annaliese despite all her sister's efforts. A brick wall is up and her heart is hardened by the memory of a terrible day and a broken promise. Then, she meets Jake, the other patient. After loosening up to her sister and starting a forbidden secret relationship with Jake, Samantha finds herself welcoming the idea of having her sister back. Until one day, tragedy and a dark secret sends the sisters two steps back.
