Living in a homeless shelter, waiting for her mother to climb out of the deep depression that got them there in the first place, fifteen year old Olivia Greyson doesn't feel like she has much going for her at the moment. But when Olivia receives a scholarship to be a junior counselor at a summer camp in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, she decides to take her social worker's advice and make the most of it.
Uncertain how her new friends would feel about her homeless status, she desperately tries to keep her background a secret. She works hard to get to know the campers she's charged with, particularly a quiet girl named Lane who seems a little lost, herself. Olivia even finds herself falling for another junior counselor who seems smitten with her for reasons Olivia can't fathom. If only he knew the truth about where she came from.
As Olivia's bad luck would have it, her perfect summer is disrupted when a number of dangerous accidents start happening around the camp, threatening its closure. There's also the Blue Ridge Summer Camp murder from twenty years ago to consider, which Olivia discovers is not just the legend everyone says it is. Olivia must uncover the truth about what's going on before history repeats itself; her survival depends on it.
