The family of Pionus Parrots is comprised of seven distinct species, a number of that ar quite rare, and every one happiness to the scientific genus Pionus. all of them share a particular short, square-shaped tail and huge eyes encircled by a blank eye ring. A triangle of red feathers around their vent rounds out their common coloration characteristics.
