Gerry Hagan´s debut novel is a 'What If?' story about Mankind's future. It combines philosophy, politics, psychology and sociology written in the science fiction genre. Mia Thaw: The Future Whispers, considers aspects of the human race in a funny, thought provoking and easy to read narrative. Kenny becomes aware in a pod, he has no idea how he got there or where he is. Kenny is from Glasgow. He swears a lot, but he´s kind of cute (my wife added that bit). Meanwhile, Australian Siobhan (my wife likes Siobhan too) and Japanese Hiro are grappling with increasing suicide rates in the population of the World Council, governed by President Rossini. Kenny and his friend Rob, after exploring SIMs of Victorian times become involved with deep downloading. In this environment anything they imagine can be lived in fullness in the cloud. And they have good imaginations! But deep downloading has unexpected consequences for President Rossini, in particular the Fundamentalists find the situation abhorrent. What if there is no need for death? Where does religion feature if there is no death? The Future Whispers poses potential risks for mankind and in a world of aliens, machines, Neanderthals, and humans a lot can happen.
