April is a High School Senior with a scholarship to College, when her father forces her to quit school and get married. Conner is an aspiring writer, earning a teaching degree in California. He came home to the Blue Ridge for his grandfather's funeral and the reading of the will. To inherit, he has eight years to marry, and have a child. On the way back to the coast Conner and April's paths intersect in a snowstorm. He gets her to a motel, then after hearing her story takes her back to his house in the blue Ridge so she can pursue her dreams. Seven years later, she has her degree, a teaching job and Conner's six year old daughter, Conner is now a successful Author with four books out. The first of them based on his four day ephemeral relationship with with April. Can love over come the twists of fate
