The author of the fairytale, Fernando Fersini, was born in Matino (Lecce, Italy). Despite a troubled adolescence, he managed to attend a directing course at A. C. T.- Accademia Cinema Televisione di Cinecittà - in Rome, under the direction of Carlo Lizzani. He spent his working life in Switzerland, where he resides to this day. As a multifaceted screenwriter, he has credit to his novels "Un Sogno Americano" and "Maria Antonietta II".
