The present volume Socio-economic and Political Impact of Coronavirus on India: Challenges and Prospects aims to examine the level of consciousness of people and the socio-economic and political impact of coronavirus on India. Under the current stressful condition of the COVID-19 epidemic all sections of people in India, nay in the world as a whole, are suffering from economic losses causing indescribable pangs and sufferings due to loss of jobs and social security. The socio-economic life of migrant workers and people of other unorganized sectors who form more than 80 percent population in India have almost come to a standstill. They are on the verge of ruin. The Government of India has taken several measures to mitigate the damages caused to the Indian people including farmers, business and tradesmen, industrialists, jobless workers, migrant workers, and others. This volume examines all the above issues and winds up with some concrete policy prescriptions for recovering the losses with a hope of achieving India's ambitious target of $5 trillion economy by 2024.
