Loose That Ghost And Let it Go

Hurting and being hurt is a reality of being human yet not everyone readily accepts it. Hurting is part of our struggle to understand the mystery embodied in each of us and its acceptance is the beauty of a life lived in the context of each other. Hurting comes from the fact that we are all equal but uniquely different from each other. We have different preferences in life and our attempt to go for what we really is our personal preference, different from other's creates conflicts and we hurt each other's feelings and egos. However, a realization that a human family is like a chain, and that every individuals life is tied on the life of the other, is what brings acceptance and harmony in this life. This acceptance is based on the simple truth that nobody is an island. Nobody is self-sufficient to the extent that the life of the other does not affect him or her. The reason for existence of everyone of us is for the consumption of the other person. That is to say, that human life can be likened to the analogy of the river and trees. No river drinks its own water, nor do trees eat their own fruits. Neither does the sun shine for its own sake. They all exist in the context of others. Human life too, its fulfillment and thus the beauty of our life is to be found in a life lived in communion with others. But the reality of hurting and being hurt do blind us and makes us indifferent to the life and the needs of others around us. It makes us so self-centered, so egocentric and developing an attitude of my life my choice, completely shield ourselves with a wall of hatred, envy, anger, strife and inner struggle. These walls with which we shield ourselves from others, making them impenetrable for others, denies us inner peace and makes us captives to the reality we fashion in our own minds. We live in the world of our own minds completely disengaged from the community of others. This life is less human, less fulfilling and even more painful. Life lived in this state decimates us to the level of beats and less human. The walls that lock others out locks us in. Therefore, by fashioning and cherishing these walls to shield ourselves from others we become victims of our own making and we are haunted by them. These walls though affect and deny us peace, in themselves are nonexistent, they are insofar as they are conceived in our minds. They are "ghosts" that we need loose and let them go so that we break the barriers that separate us from ourselves as well as from others.
