After a costly blow to the Pirates of Hark fleet, a new and ominous power is rising within the pirate infrastructure. The Lion of Hark is a force that even the Pirate Guild leadership openly fears. Seemingly having eyes and ears everywhere, those that did not heed the Lion's directions would simply disappear or be made to be a tragic example. Working outside the purview of the Galactic Enforcement, Ryker Alding and his best friend and navigator Leo Cutter fly the highly advanced Shifter gun. Together they begin to covertly and systematically track down the big pirate capital ships. Once the capabilities of the Shifter are realized by the pirates, it is immediately coveted, setting Ryker on a direct collision course with the Lion of Hark.
