Pegasus was the name of a non-party political organisation founded in the year of Trinidad and Tobago's Independence in 1962. The organisation was founded and led by Geddes Granger, later Makandal Daaga who later became leader of the National Joint Action Committee and the 1970 Revolution. Project Independence was the nation-building plan produced by Pegasus in 1967 after broad consultation and involvement of many citizens in developing its content. This book traces the history of Pegasus and the full text and an analysis of Project Independence. This important document was previously unpublished. It was made available by Mr. Roy Mitchell who was a leading figure in the Pegasus organisation.
