What would happen if a middle-aged woman started getting younger? When Jane wakes up in hospital, her hair is gone, along with her memory. Of a group of people who fall gravely ill after a noxious chemical fog blankets Toronto, she is the only survivor. A team of doctors works to bring her back to health and to unravel the mystery of why she survived. As the weeks pass it becomes clear that, impossibly but undeniably, Jane is getting younger. She becomes a scientific specimen of immense importance, and she must flee the hospital and take on a new identity in order to have any hope of a normal life. Her memory is restored, but her past life is gone, for her age has moved backward by thirty years. Pursued by the doctor who sees in her his Nobel prize, she stays one step ahead as she plans her final escape. Will she elude him? Will she keep getting younger?
