Harry Houdini & Sherlock Holmes - A complete reprint of the rare Portuguese language edition of the 1911 pulp magazine from the series "Aventuras extraordinarias dum policia secreta". This issue title is "O athlete desapparecido" which translates in English to "Extraordinary Adventures of a Secret Police - The Missing Athlete". This issue was in fact a translation from the original 1908 German "Auf den Spuren Houdinis" - On the Trail of Houdini. NOTE - all interior text pages have been watermarked. Synopsis: Houdini is kidnapped by rivals and is destined to be killed where-as the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, is quickly called upon to solve the caper. Having an interest in either Houdini or Holmes you might also look for a similar reprint of this from the 1920's "Aventuras extraordinarias De Sherlock Holmes" and "Houdini & Holmes Together Again In 1908". Each of these titans are like super heroes. Houdini was the king of escapes, handcuffs, magic, and illusion while Holmes was the mastermind of detectives who used logic and deduction to solve crimes.
