Gary Dunne is a survivor, though he wonders what he's living for after a battle that left his brother and a best friend dead and ended a love affair he thought might last a lifetime. But the world keeps turning. Though he finds himself unemployed and abandoned in 1970's Ireland, he picks up the pieces, taking opportunities to make a few pounds. Spinning records for a friend who owns a mobile disco and running a detective agency supplement his unemployment benefit. When another friend offers him a job as security on a Leeson Street night club, his love life takes off and the chance to avenge his brother presents itself.
