A Bitter Harvest
Robert Krenzel
In the wrong place at the wrong time, Gideon Hawke is captured by his Iroquois enemies. He is tortured nearly to death before being adopted into the Seneca Nation. He learns the ways of his new family, but resolves to escape, slipping away in a blizzard. He eludes recapture, but finds that the world he knew moved on without him. He is finally offered a chance for redemption and advancement, but at a cost: he must join the 1779 Sullivan Expedition into the heart of enemy country, burning buildings and destroying crops, in order to break the will of the Iroquois.
