I believe that the age of fifteen is the beginning of a young girl's most exhilarating, transformative and defining years. A time when she begins to date, think of her college of choice, or get into trouble. This could also be a time of great loss, misadventure, questioning one's purpose in life, and understanding the consequences of certain actions. There are a lot of things we've learned over the years that we wish we'd known at age fifteen. There were mistakes made, opportunities missed and decisions that could have had horrific consequences, that if we had today's wisdom, we'd have done better. We can't go back, but we can shed some light for some of you. A collection of seven letters of hope, wisdom, and inspiration, composed by everyday women as they write letters to their fifteen-year-old selves.
