In 1532, the Spanish Conquistador, Francisco Pizarro, ransomed the Inca Emperor, Atahualpa, for one room filled with gold and two of silver. Pizarro, an uneducated adventurer, and former swineherd, grew nervous and executed Atahualpa when the treasure was only hours away. Shocked by the Spanish treachery, the Incas hid the ransom in a place they called, The Valley of the Sleeping Inca, and swore never to reveal its location. Since then, the treasure has been vigorously protected by an ancient Andean cult while it waits for revenge. Half a millennium after the Spanish Conquest, the Inca Gold has been mostly forgotten, and the valley became a popular destination for new-agers and pharmaceutical companies interested in prolonging human life. Nearby, an ancient civilization waits to reclaim the utopian glory of the Inca Empire by ending the lives of 5 Billion people. Unaware of the impending disaster, the Cassiel Society learns that Veronica Albright's estranged daughter is kidnapped in the Valley of the Sleeping Inca. Trick rushes to the rescue only to find himself face to face with the legend of Inkarri and the largest mass murder the world has ever known.
