In 1981 an angered American citizen stopped allowing federal income tax be taken from him by writing "exempt" on his W-4s as circumstance and the law allowed. The IRS tried to punish him. He demanded his rights be respected. The IRS backed away. The angered American citizen stopped filling out IRS tax forms and handing them over to the government. The IRS tried to punish him. He demanded his rights be respected. The IRS backed away. Over a decade on, the still angered American citizen challenged the IRS in their Tax Court. He stood in the well before their judge and under oath declared, "Last year, and for many years before, I did not fill out IRS tax forms and hand them over to the government, and I never will." He has never been arrested for what he has not done, or for what he, under oath, bore witness to having not done. The American government had not protected his Blessings of Liberty. He had become angry. He read the simple words of The Constitution. He trusted those simple words & took a stand, challenged the American government, & he stood against that government behind only a paper shield - The Constitution of the United States of America. His shield has protected him for forty years. His is a mighty shield!
