Originally written as three chronological novellas, Darion gets his first taste for adventure outside of Falconia. Unnatural beasts and the corruption of civilized borders are forced upon him as both his patience and sword arm are tested daily.

When a mysterious gem lands itself into Darion's possession, he seeks to sell the jewel in order to replace all he has lost. It takes little time before the Falconian begins to wonder if the gem is cursed when his luck runs short, and the simple task of selling the jewel for easy coin turns into a series of complicated adventures.

His attempts to overlook the oppression and corruption of those around him, doesn't come easy. The treachery he's forced to witness fans the flames of his anger into an inferno of rage that has the young warrior overlooking his own well being in an attempt to topple those in power.
