Doyle thought life would slow down since he and Susan retired to Fontana Lake, North Carolina. He would continue to work with search and rescue teams and forget about the war deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. However, this ex-Army Ranger would soon find out that the Smoky Mountains and Afghanistan have more things in common than what appears - thrown into the search for a missing young boy, the horrors of war quickly come back into focus. Doyle, racing against time to find the missing boy finds something very few people know exists. The rules-of-engagement seem always to be working against him.
