Rosie is a bright and cheery hedgehog who loves playing with her friends at school. Recently, there has been a change in Rosie's behavior. Her teacher, Ms. Prickles, and her friends have noticed that some days she is very emotional and just wants to hide.
Although initially afraid to tell, Rosie speaks up about the source of her pain. When she does, Ms. Prickles and her friends offer compassion and guidance, showing Rosie that a path to healing can be found when we share our hurts with those we trust. About the Author:
Lauren Nicole is a California based creative whose work centers around women and children overcoming traumatic situations and their emotional healing. Using her own life experiences as inspiration for her work, she hopes she can inspire others on their path to healing.

I write books that I wish I had read as a child, ones that represent the quiet and empathetic children. As a child, I faced situations that left me very vulnerable and without boundaries. For decades, I struggled with a low sense of self-worth and allowed others to take advantage of me, never understanding that I had the power to not only set healthy boundaries but could also say "no."
I had experienced a depth of pain at such a young age, that I rushed in to save everyone around me from experiencing even the smallest amount of hurt. Unfortunately, that trait made me an even larger target for abusive relationships, friendships, and even working relationships with employers and co-workers.
My wish is to share this story with young readers in order to start the conversation of what is healthy and what is not, in any relationship. Especially concerning tricky connections with family members, when love can be used as an excuse to allow harmful behaviors to persist. I want to share that it is ok to speak up about a situation that is uncomfortable or painful with any trusted adult, not necessarily a caregiver, and that friends can offer compassion and support at any age.
I hope that you will adore Rosie as much as I do, as well as find the story filled with a message of love and acceptance.
With love,
Lauren
