Salt and Earth is about the human race and how struggle, love and pain knows no bounds. It is a reflection of the deep and complicated human nature that we struggle with. It is a telling of love, pain, adversity, failure, all the things we fall short of that makes us less proud of who we dream and imagine ourselves to be. It is a poetry book of all the things that puts us at odds with the Earth. An exposé of our deference with nature, with each other, with feelings we are afraid to reconcile because the price for revealing our shame and admitting to ourselves that we should be better to each other is too high. This poetry book is about humanity hiding from its truth without ever being humble enough to recognize that the people we are hurting most are our love ones, ourselves and the Earth.
