Jason Walsley goes to school, puts up with local bullies and has an annoying younger sister who always wants to play with him and his friends- he feels just like any normal twelve-year old boy! That is until a odd boy with a odd name enrolls at their school and Jason has a lot of trouble making sense of the strange occurrences that seem to happen whenever he is near. Soon enough he learns that his human life is not as it seems when when he is told about Labaratha- a world full of shape-shifters with incredible gifts. Jason and his friends embark on a whirlwind adventure that teaches him who he really is and what family really means. Along the way, he learns how to control his new found abilities and meets a few characters that will change his life forever.
