To travel through time is a mystery that has captured the imagination of people throughout the ages. Some say it's impossible! Others reserve judgement. Whatever your take on this, the enigmas and the questions remain. Are time-travelers walking amongst us- hidden in plain sight? When Merlin, the 6th Century seer and magician, has the power to time-travel literally thrust into his hands, by a dying king Arthur, he doesn't immediately recognize the worth of the strange metal ball that the King entrusts into his care. The ball has some surprising powers, which the wily wizard quickly uses to his advantage. Before long, Merlin finds himself flying down the centuries, eventually ending up in 21st Century England, where we meet up with him in Surrey woodland. Our initial impression of him, is that of a rather scruffy old tramp, sleeping rough in the woods. Thereafter, his adventures begin in earnest, as we follow him to some unlikely places, including The Lost City of Atlantis! The tale returns time and again to England, the land of Merlin's birth. But Merlin's story is much more than just adventures and travel. Wizard that he is, he's also a man of quick wit and depth of understanding. The scruffy tramp soon morphs into a well-dressed man about town, driving a red Jaguar! When his friends quiz him about what he's doing in the 21st Century he replies," I've come to Make Britain Great Again". They laugh, but if anyone can pull off this feat, Merlin looks to be the man to do it. His degree of success will be revealed in the second book of this series, entitled the Soldier, The Magician and The King.
