This is a romantic comedy about two con men, Nick and his protégé Max. One day Nick receives an email from a bank, informing him that a rich, eccentric uncle of his died and left him a large sum of money. Nick goes to the bank and verifies the story. His uncle had specified that he must be married if he is to inherit the money. If he fails to meet this condition, then the inheritance will go to his cousin Brady, who is currently in prison and will be released in 30 days. Nick finds a marriage officer willing to issue him a marriage license if he and his "fiancée" will spend the weekend with him. At the last minute, Nick's romantic interest, who had agreed to pose as his fiancée changes her mind. Nick is forced to improvise by having his protégé Max, play the role of his fiancée.
