Allan Kardec never published a modified edition of his book The Genesis, the Miracles and the Predictions According to Spiritism. On the other hand, more than three years after his death, in December 1872, the 5th edition, "revised, corrected and enlarged", was published with more than 100 modifications, which include passages that contradict teachings of Spiritism, as well as logic, and that contrast with Kardec's style of writing. Is Allan Kardec really the author of the 1872 5th edition? Which is the definitive edition of The Genesis, the Miracles and the Predictions According to Spiritism? How to identify if an edition reproduces the authentic content?These themes are discussed in this publication, which is based on the information developed by the author in her book El legado de Allan Kardec and in several lectures she has given. The content of this publication and that of El legado de Allan Kardec result from her personal research in the headquarters of the French National Archives and the National Library of France in Paris, as well as in the Argentinean Spiritist Confederation and the Constancia Spiritist Association, from Buenos Aires.
