This is a compilation of all the 2,665 films by 940 directors I have seen through 2019. The first was the Walt Disney animation, Bambi. Released in 1942, I saw it when I was four or five years old. The last film on the list is Clint Eastwood's biopic of Richard Jewell, falsely accused of planting a bomb during the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1969. The reason I brought this project to a conclusion with 2019 is that this is the year when the movies were transformed radically and permanently. In a trend that had been developing for many years, the top talent in Hollywood migrated from making films to making productions first for television, both broadcast and cable, and then for online streaming. It is significant that the Oscar for Best Picture was awarded in 2019 to Alfonso Cuarón's Roma, amid much controversy, because it was intended for Netflix streaming exclusively and only shown briefly in a few theaters in order to qualify for the Oscars. By the way, "cinephage" derives from two words in Classical Greek: ?????, meaning "to move," and ★★★★★★, "to eat." I chose this term because, in my younger days, as this compilation amply demonstrates, I didn't just like movies, I devoured them
