Watching "Spin and Marty" on television was the thing to do in the 50's. Pre-teens all over the USA were fervent fans of this Disney show, as was I, a young girl waiting for the adventures of her life to begin..like on TV. With social issues of the times like civil rights, dirty dancing, segregation, the McCarthy era all hitting home. What a chance for adventure as her family goes on a vacation of a lifetime on the way to the future.
