After the Greatest Recession, America is bankrupt and on the verge of exploding from racial resentment and crippling debt. Neighborhoods are forcibly divided into Blue and Red zones to keep the peace... but this measure can hold back discontent for so long. But hey! In the midst of impending chaos, Brian Chen falls in love! He meets Nell Salazar after a choice encounter with a spicy taco (long story). Things finally start to look up. All he has to do is stop self-sabotaging himself with his crippling insecurity. And oh yeah, he needs to figure out how AIs and the AI Liberation is involved because somehow he's gotten dragged into a vast conspiracy that's turning out to be insanely dangerous and violent. What could possibly go wrong?
