I know my birth right. My real name is Adi. I'm the daughter of Chieftain Aedi from the distant land of Haedui. I'm sixteen years old now. The Romans changed my name when they captured me. I was the girl on duty at the door the night they brought the prisoner to the palace of Annas, the father-in-law of High Priest Caiaphas. Roman guards led Jesus to the palace door and Annas yelled for me to get the high priest. We waited for over an hour for the high priest to return. The Roman soldiers warmed their hands over a coal fire inside the courtyard and stomped their feet. It was a cold night. The Romans stood ill at ease, but one centurion recognized Jesus and wanted to speak with him. In an hour that transcended time, Jesus talked with both the centurion and me. Little did we know, the Roman's fate and mine would be inexplicably changed-intertwined-by this meeting. We will never be the same. This is the story of our meeting.
