The theme of Esther is the providence of the invisible God to save His people. Here we see the concept of a conspicuous absence-the absence of something that all the details lead us to expect. God is never directly mentioned in the book of Esther. God is not a character in this book in a way that we see Him in a book like Exodus. God is not seen doing miracles or speaking in a direct way but is seen in the details of the story through His providence. God is demonstrated to be in control even when He is seemingly missing. When God seems most hidden, He is most present!Psalm 46:1-"God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.""...very present..." (Psalm 46:1) God is overwhelmingly present with His people in time of trouble
