The morning news takes us by the hand (sometimes not so gently) closer each day to the pages of Matthew chapter twenty-four, Daniel's eleventh chapter, and II Thessalonians chapter two. Collectively, these have taken on the name of "the Last Days" or "the End Times". The theme of the apocalypse has been a popular subject for entertainment for several decades now, but it seems reality is quickly catching up to our fictional fears. Pandemics, politics, threats of wars, and natural disasters compete for top billing on the websites, News shows, and even Newspapers. When the teaching of Jesus lays out principles for spiritual survival, we should take notice of them. Just knowing what those are is a start but understanding how those principles operate is just as important. Perhaps one of the most vital principles found in the Lord's prophetic warnings is patience. Jesus states several times that "in our patience we possess our souls". We should understand this virtue that is so often thought to be difficult to obtain, is indeed attainable. Along with the principle itself, the process of its acquisition has been revealed in the scripture. It is the examination of this process, especially as it relates to the days we are living in, to which we will turn our attention as the pages of this book are read. May the patience that can keep you from carnal reaction be instilled as the principle and process revealed in this writing is absorbed into your spirit and soul. As you respond to the call of God and enter the rest, which His call grants to you, the foundation for enduring hope is set. Discover how to build upon that foundation for establishing patience that will endure to the very end of God's plan.
