The Shadows of Gettysburg is a compelling six-act play, which embraces historical truths of a pivotal point in our great American History. The passion of the play is evident in the portrayal of the first encounter leading to a full-scale engagement, and ending with the fabled Pickett's Charge. The aftermath is a touching scene in which the boys in gray return from the charge and is greeted by a saddened Lee and Longstreet (Bill White) The finale is the fabled Gettysburg Address performed by Dennis Boggs as President Lincoln. Also included is a moving monologue by General Meade, as portrayed by Ken Creswell. Roger Kelley portrays a wounded soldier who encounters Lee after the battle. The ghostly voice of General Stonewall Jackson (Danny Buckner) narrates the play. The author offers a view from both sides into a war that pitted brother against brother, in the most horrific battle ever fought on American soil. The play has received rave reviews and is considered to be a must-see performance.
