Sienna Jones moved to a new town with her mother after the fall-out of her father's affair. She was working at the Branson Street Coffee Shop when a local contractor, Jake White, walked in. Her mouth dropped open at the sight of him, and she lost all process of clear thinking. His black hair, curly around the edges, had made her want to reach up and feel it between her fingertips. His eyes, a startling blue, had pierced right through her soul. After an awkward introduction, they spoke for a couple of minutes, and then she handed him his coffee, and he left, not realizing how much the introduction had rattled her. As their innocent friendship blossoms, Sienna overhears two men speaking of murder. The incident at the river creates a bond between Sienna and Jake that neither can deny. Although Sienna knows that he is married, she can't help but find herself falling in love with him. Determined to move on from the friendship and the feelings that she has for him, she learns that she might not have the strength to say goodbye. Fate keeps intervening, and destiny seems to keep leading them down the same path towards each other.
