When Karl Marx wrote his primary school composition called communism, he failed to read and research the Bible. Had he read, particularly Ephesians 6: 5-9 and 1 Samuel 8 he could have picked many reasons why the Greeks pioneered democracy and discarded kingship leadership as a government system. Kingship leadership was a tyranny and was gained through brutal violence and extreme women abuse. Hence in 1 Samuel 8 God rejected the idea of kingship leadership when the Israelites demanded it. Democracy means ordinary and common people have the power to choose their government. Karl Marx said capitalists use religion to oppress the poor masses and that religion is the opium [drugs] of the working class to control and direct them. Maybe Karl Marx took some opium-drugs before he wrote this part about Christianity, hence the opium generalized and said: "religion".
