The intent of this guide is to start a dialogue among education leaders about the negative effects that implicit biases have on minority and or special education students - specifically regarding the suspension rates as a result of implicit biases held by teachers. Missed school time has a domino effect on the success rate of minority students. referral process and the interventions put in place before a student is referred and ultimately identified to have a disability. Ultimately the goal is to initiate meaningful reflection from educators and leaders across the globe. We all possess implicit biases. How is this affecting the students that we teach?
