Secret sins, as we see so clearly from King David in the Old Testament, have a way of choking the joy of out the Christian's life. These secret sins can range from the seemingly small to the undeniably big, all of which carry a heavy burden on the shoulders of the believer. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation can these burdens be lifted. But confessing our sins to one another is often helpful in seeking godly counsel, asking our brothers and sisters to help carry the burden, and bringing about unity in prayer for one another.
