Aime has managed to suppress her feelings about her mother's murder, for twenty five years. But as the twenty fifth anniversary of her mother's death approaches, Aime is asked by a justice department lawyer to assist them in shutting down an illegal casino in Deboney, on the edge of the Indian reservation where she was born. Knowing that her mother's death was tied to the casino, somehow, Aime refuses. Seeing the way her mother's death is haunting his wife, diplomat Avery Balfour suggests she go back and visit the grave in an attempt to come to terms with the tragedy.
