The Ordinand
Loraine Tulleken
When Dillon, a soon to be priested Anglican ordinand, is arrested for the murder of a visiting American professor his frantic mother appeals to Archbishop Shakes for help and reasons: 'For the cops it's an open and shut case because Dillon is a coloured boy from a township with street gangs and drug dealers.' What the cops know and she doesn't is that Dillon is gay and they presume a lovers' quarrel. Shake's undertakes to investigate further at great personal cost and increased tensions within a Church divided by issues surrounding sexuality.
