Tatenda Viriri
African folktales - Retold, is a children's book based on stories that were told by African grandparents to their grandchildren or by parents to their children after dinner whilst relaxing, to teach them good morals and to help them make wise decisions in life. These stories were passed on from generation to generation. The children were made to believe that long time ago, animals used to communicate with people and amongst themselves. Hare and baboon featured in many of these stories as uncle and nephew and in most cases the uncle "baboon," would always be fooled by the nephew "hare." Other animals also featured in different scenarios. The author tried to retell these stories in a modern context for today's generation to understand and enjoy.
