Revisited my old near Westside Chicago neighborhood where over 70% of the African American community have vanished making way for placeholder vacant lots, a prelude to a new demographic and economy stretching from downtown, and maybe to Oak Patk. Meanwhile, homicides continue to mount, as year 2020 closed out with 774 for the city, with a large share from the westside where only about 30% of African Americans remain. This is obviously a bottom out strategy by the city and developers.
